We are social beings and therefore, we want to be connected to others.  Sometimes obstacles prevent us from finding happiness within these connections with others.  It is my belief that the task of looking inward and identifying (awareness) these obstacles is the first step to change.  The second step is to embrace what we find (acceptance).  Once we identify and accept what prevents us from feeling content, a sense of accountability settles in and enables change.

My job as a therapist is to work together with you to explore your thoughts and feelings from the perspective you have adopted in life, providing you with alternative tools and an objective perspective to tackle issues that you may be struggling with an.  I work extensively in the areas of depression, anxiety, relationships, addiction problems, anger, and grief and I specialize in working with adults (individuals and couples) and adolescents.  I also provide psychological testing.  I consider myself to be an “Integrated” therapist, using a variety of theories to address the individual client’s set of symptoms.  This ensures that each client’s unique set of issues are addressed in the most appropriate and effective manner to maximize effectiveness of the intervention.  My base theoretical orientation is Interpersonal and Psychodynamic.  These theories suggest issues for relating with others, and self concept, are the result of previously learned behaviors.  The challenge is to gain insights to these behaviors to promote happier and healthier relationships and to build a solid self-concept.

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology and completed my internship and post doctoral training at The Robert Murney Clinic.  Since then I have worked in a variety of settings such as a community mental health clinic, a residential program, and private practice treating clients with diverse psychological issues.
