People may decide to begin therapy when their usual strategies of dealing with the demands of life no longer work to their satisfaction. Obstacles that stand in people’s way to a more constructive approach to facing external demands can influence people’s moods, thoughts, behaviors and relationships with others. I believe that the process of therapy along with the therapeutic relationship serves as the vehicle for clients to overcome these obstacles and reach their personal goals. In a collaborative manner, I help clients examine their thoughts, feelings, and actions to help them understand themselves and learn new, healthier coping skills. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space, I help clients increase understanding of their selves, their relationships, and the possible choices available to them. I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I obtained my doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) at the Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University and completed my undergraduate education at Skidmore College. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. I have experience working in a variety of environments including outpatient, inpatient, and school settings with people who present with varying problems. I work primarily with older adolescents and adults. My areas of strengths include work with anxiety disorders, depression, stress management, and college adjustment.
