Can I use insurance to pay for my sessions?

Yes, but we are not in-network with all insurance plans. Check with your individual health insurance provider to be certain. Even if we are not in-network, you should ask if you have any out-of-network benefits. If so, you may receive reimbursement by your insurance company, even if you have to pay out of pocket at first. Some feel that this is a good strategy for finding a provider of their choosing, rather than being forced to stay within their insurance network.

Since we are not in-network with all insurance plans, those clients choosing to pay out of pocket must pay for services at the end of each session or assessment service. We will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have with regard to reimbursement from your insurance carrier.

A statement that contains all of the necessary information needed for you to submit to your insurance company will be given to you or mailed directly to you on a monthly basis. It is your responsibility to complete your claim form, attach the statement from Equilibria, and forward it your insurance company. Reimbursement from your insurance carrier for money you have already paid to us for your treatment should be sent to you directly. Please feel free to ask your therapist any questions you may have regarding filing with your insurance company. For your records, always keep copies of your statements and claims that are sent into your insurance company.

Do you offer brief therapy for targeted problems?

Yes. At the onset of treatment, we work with the client(s) closely to figure out the source of the problem to target treatment and to address the needs of the individual(s). Frequently we engage in brief therapy, as some problems and issues tend to be resolved in a short period of time. If it appears that your problem will not be amenable to short-term treatment, you will be informed of that and we will work together to design appropriate treatment services.

Do you offer long-term, more open-ended therapy services?

Yes. Depending on the issues presented and the needs and wishes of our clients, we tailor our services to meet the unique needs of each client we serve.

Does psychotherapy really work?

Yes. There have been numerous studies done over the past several decades that have shown that psychotherapy is beneficial in many ways for many different types of problems and issues. If psychotherapy is believed not to be beneficial for your set of issues, we will provide referrals for you that may be more useful.
